Mr. Jiang Xinsheng, President of CNTIC, met with Mr. James A. Merchant III, Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific of Washington Group International (WGI) at Genertec Plaza on March 21, 2005. Mr. Jiang briefed the guest on the current status of China’s power market, especially the nuclear power self-reliance program that CNTIC initiated upon the request of the Chinese government. Mr. Jiang expressed his hope for WGI to be more active in exploring more cooperation opportunity with CNTIC in the near future by utilizing its own technical advantages. Mr. Merchant introduced WGI’s overall plan to explore China’s power market and hoped to strengthen WGI’s cooperation with CNTIC in wider areas including new generation nuclear reactor technology and gas-fired cogeneration power projects. Mr. Wu Duoyu, Vice President of CNTIC also attended the meeting, accompanying by people from CNTIC’s other business departments.
