MMG Gas Processing and Power Generation Project Successfully Commences Construction in Kazakhstan

Time:2025-10-13

On October 9, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 22 MW gas processing and power generation project at Zhetybai oilfield of MangistauMunaiGas (MMG) in Kazakhstan was held at the project site. Representatives from MMG, partner CNLC, GENERTEC CENTRAL ASIA, and other stakeholders attended the ceremony.

Located in Zhetybai town, Mangystau Region, Kazakhstan, the project encompasses design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning, as well as operation and maintenance.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, MMG's General Manager of Production Technology noted that this represents MMG's first gas processing and power generation project and has received significant attention from leadership since its inception. Upon completion, the project will substantially alleviate power shortages at the oilfield, providing stable energy support for production operations. He expressed confidence that through close collaboration with all project teams, the project will advance efficiently and be successfully implemented.

The project leader pledged to lead the team in advancing the MMG gas processing and power generation project at the Zhetybai oilfield with high standards and strict requirements, working in close coordination with MMG, CNLC, and all project partners to ensure efficient implementation and create a benchmark project of excellence.

This project represents another innovative breakthrough for GENERTEC International in the Central Asian oilfield power generation sector. Upon completion, it will help alleviate power shortages at MMG's Zhetybai oilfield by providing stable electricity to ensure steady oilfield production. It will also serve as a demonstration for the application of fast-response natural gas power generation stations in Kazakhstan, accumulating practical experience for the company's continued expansion in the regional oilfield power generation market and development of additional cooperative projects.
