On June 23rd, 2004, the signing ceremony for the contract between CNTIC and Syria on the export of tire manufacturing facilities with annual capacity of 2.2 million tires was held at the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Syrian Trade Minister, Chairman for Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Vice Chairman Gao Yan of CCPIT attended the ceremony. Mr. Shen Heting, general manager of No.22 Metallurgy and Building Material Company, Mr. Shi Xiangchen, general manager of Beijing Capital Tire Co., Ltd., and Mr. Wu Duoyu, CNTIC vice-president were also present at the ceremony. Mr. Wu Duoyu signed the contract on behalf of CNTIC. The ceremony was held on the occasion that Syrian entrepreneur delegation led by President Assad visited China, thus serving as a catalyst for enhancing CNTIC’s brand name.

After the ceremony, CNTIC president Jiang Xinsheng and vice-president Wu Duoyu met the project owner and other guests from No.22 Metallurgy and Building Material Co. and Beijing Capital Tire Co., Ltd. President Jiang expressed his thanks for the support of No.22 Metallurgy and Building Material Co. and Beijing Capital Tire Co., Ltd. to the project, hoping that parties involved can make the best of the project and shape it as a model project for future Sino-Syrian trade and economic cooperation. Based on the project, CNTIC will further explore the Syrian market and increase its export of machinery and electronic products and complete equipment to Syria.

CNTIC now is working with relevant parties on technical terms and initial design, and urging project owner to pay the advance payment for the sake of contract coming into effect at an early date.
