CNTIC has been taking the role of main channel for import
and export of key technologies and complete plants despite
profound changes on national economic system and
international market since its establishment in 1952.
Entering the new century especially after the strategic
restructure of Genertec Group ,CNTIC will give top priority
to trade business ; restructure its corporate system;
develope innovatively technology trade and project
contracting; invest in advanced manufacturing and R&D design
consulting related to main businesses at appropriate time;
better its service by perfecting its core competence and
speed up the transformation to an international project
contractor and project management contractor with the
objective of becoming a renowned large international
enterprise integrating the trade with engineering projects
and industry.
1950s Laying the Foundations
CNTIC
introduced technologies and complete plants for the famous
¡°156 projects since its founding in September of 1952, which
accelerated recovery and development of national economy and
laid solid foundation for the industries especially heavy
industry of new China.
1960s Taking On the Responsibilities
CNTIC
successfully introduced many technologies and complete
plants from Japan and Western Germany even when China was
under the restriction and embargo from former Soviet Union
and the United States. CNTIC, working with the industry
departments signed contract with Japan for the first unit of
vinylon equipment in June,1963 and imported later
technologies and equipments for 84 projects covering the
areas of petrochemical, metallurgy, mining, electronics and
precision machinery and from ten countries including Japan
and the countries in Western Europe that boosted China¡¯s
industry production capability.
1970s Making Progress
CNTIC
imported a batch of complete plants and single equipment
with mature advanced technology that helped improve China¡¯s
industrial technology and fill in the gap in some key
technologies and equipments. During this period , CNTIC
imported equipments for 367 projects, including the
large-scaled fertilizer equipment, the large scale chemical
fiber equipment, and petrol-chemical equipment, data process
equipment, power generation equipment, coal mining equipment
and oxygen generating plant etc.
1980s Speeding up Development
CNTIC
took the initiatives to accelerate the pace of introducing
advanced technologies and complete plants in all-round way.
With China¡¯s reform stepping into a new historic period,
CNTIC grasped new opportunities to use the loans from
foreign governments World Bank and international financial
institutions for import business which diversified business
scope and scale. It was also in this period that our export
business was launched with good economic return. Export of
technologies, complete plants and high-valued mechanical
products has ben the main characteristic of the company.
CNTIC was listed the fifth place among china¡¯s 500 biggest
foreign trade companies in 1990.
1990s Brilliant Achievements
Since
the 1990s, facing the increasingly fierce market competition
and the increasing complexity of the operating environment,
CNTIC made continuous efforts to accomplish the transition
from a trade organization under the planned economy to a
business entity under the market economy. CNTIC innovated
its business philosophy, orientation and goals to meet the
demand of the market, and steadily improved the management.
The company entered into a fast developing period, during
which the business focus was ¡°diversified operation based on
three pillars of "trade, industry, and finance¡±. I Import
and export business and other diversified operation became
the main scope and economic return became the primary goal
for the company
21centrury Writing a new Chapter
Entering into the 21st century and making full use of great
opportunity of China's accession to WTO, CNTIC take the
initiative to embrace the market challenge and began to
blaze new trials. After strategic restructuring in 2002,
CNTIC has defined more clearly its strategy, business scope
and core competence.
Having analyzed internal and external business
circumstances, CNTIC decided to undertake the strategic
transformation to become an international project contractor
and project manager by focusing on two core businesses
namely key technology and complete plants introduction and
international project contracting.
